Empowering students to navigate challenging real world problems requires trust in the iterative design process and a dedication to hands-on prototyping. The design studio environment encourages self-motivation and collaboration among peers. Instructors give constructive feedback and encourage risk taking, attempting to remove the fear of failure. Training in digital technologies and fabrication techniques gives the students agency in the development of their projects while they explore potentially innovative outcomes.
